It's been a busy/fun/lazy weekend/week. I've been housesitting for my boss's boss, which includes watching her 3 cats and her 10 month old retriever puppy. I started Friday evening, which also included, for me, dinner at Uno's with a few friends followed by a quick walk and Hellboy II. Saturday was a chill day that ended with pizza and beer and a DVD at the house with Mary Anna and Jules. The next day, after work and working out, I hosted a cook-out at the house for some Rec people, plus Jules. We had hamburgers, hot dogs, grilled corn, chips, french fries, zucchini nut bread, homemade macaroni and cheese, and cookies. And those of us of age... yes, we had beer... but also some soda and some of the lemonade MA made.
I found out last night that I was approved for the maximum Subsidized Stafford Loan amount, which is nice, since the government will pay all my interest. That makes me more at ease with my new apartment/townhouse behind Big Lots. It's a really nice 2-story place, with a kitchen and large living room and 1.5 baths, and I get the slightly bigger room since I have a bigger bed and futon and whatnot. My boss is also giving us a free large, green sectional AND reclining couch. My Mom's going to take the day off and help me move probably on the 8th, so I can be all settled in before all the hectic all-day meetings and training kicks in for GAs and Rec Staff and everything on the 12th.
Also, I found out that the Basketball player(s) I'm interested also live behind Big Lots. Jules said she's going to try to help me out with one of them (the one she thinks I'd get along with best) since she's been one of the team's Managers for the past three/four years. The one she's thinking of is one of the taller ones, and also the only one on the team with tattoos, but that's hot. Knowing me, I don't have a chance in Hell... but it can't hurt to try to look hot and try to flirt, which again, knowing me, will most likely be an epic failure. Oh well. She decided today to help me find a guy, and then stayed to laugh at me and Mary Anna play a couple rounds of Racquetball after she worked out. I won the three games, but MA's getting much better and will probably beat me soon. After that, MA and I chilled at the community pool for the house I'm staying at before picking up the puppy from doggie daycare. It was great. Now I'm just chilling. Tomorrow needs to be productive so I can go shopping with Mary Anna on Thursday after work. We're going to the Patrick Henry Mall, but plan on being back in time for me to pick up Bailee. I need to work out pretty good tomorrow, too, since I'll probably miss my workout on Thursday... especially if I'm going to try for this Basketball guy. I need to look better than I do for that.
Anyways, that's the run-down and now it's time to do some grading in front of the big screen TV. I could get used to this life for sure, haha. Laterz!

For Kathleen
This post is dedicated to Kathleen, who found my blog and was then distressed that it only had two posts. I promised her last night that I would fix that, so here goes. :)
I am sad that one of my favorite Englishmen is leaving in two weeks to head back to England. He has been Operations Manager here for the Varsity Basketball team, and was always entertaining when playing IM sports - especially softball. I told him yesterday that he was the highlight of my softball season and that I was sad. He's a real cutie, too, even when you don't add in the accent. :) haha
Anyways, on a happier note, yesterday was busy, but all in all good. Worked for 6 hours, then played racquetball with Mary Anna, then had an appointment, and then did back-to-back fitness classes. I wasn't sure I was up for Ashtanga Yoga after my appointment, but when I told Beau I had a lot of anxiety, he said he did, too, and we should work it out together. So I went. And I was able to do the Upward Dog Pose correctly for the first time - yay! I followed his hard class with Carrie's hard class, Boxilates, so I'm pretty sore today. I'm sad I'll probably be missing Kickboxing this Thursday if I do go back down to NC for the holiday like I think I might. The Rec Center will be closed on the Fourth since the entire student staff (all like 6 of us, ha) completely ignored Theran's emails asking for people to work four hours on Friday. Nope, we didn't even respond with a "no"... we just ignored the fact that he kept emailing us about it. But it worked! :) If I do go down to my Dad's for the Fourth, my Mom might stop by and celebrate with us since she's thinking of driving down to see Granddaddy since his health isn't so good anymore. It all depends on my brother's work schedule and the visiting hours for Granddaddy though. My brother works at Hardee's now apparently. When I find out which one and his schedule, I will let y'all know so if you're in the Beach area you can go by and harrass him as a cashier, haha.
Today I think I might practice some racquetball after work, and then relax at home maybe until Step class, which I may or may not follow with Pilates. I'll see how I feel after Step. If I don't do Pilates I'll definitely do some machines and/or cardio. Isn't my life so exciting? Work and working out. :P I try and entertain people and stay entertained though. Mary Anna was so funny this morning, especially when I showed her some award-winning National Geographic pictures my Mom sent me a while back. Her commentary was too funny. She also informed me that she mentioned me and the Mensa List 2008 on her radio show last night, haha. Some of those words are awesome though. (My Mom said that number four reeeeeaaally made her think of me, haha. Wonder why... :P *shudders*) I'll include it here as I sign off for now. Enjoy!
"Washington Post's Mensa Invitational once again asked readers to
take any word from the dictionary, alter it by adding, subtracting, or
changing one letter, and supply a new definition.
Here are this year's winners. Read them carefully. Each is an
artificial word with only one letter altered to form a real word.

realize it was your money to start with.
16. Reintarnation: Coming back to life as a hillbilly.
15. Bozone (n.): The substance surrounding stupid people that stops
bright ideas from penetrating. The bozone layer, unfortunately, shows
little sign of breaking down in the near future.
14. Cashtration (n.): The act of buying a house, which renders the
subject financially impotent for an indefinite period.
13. Giraffiti: Van dalism spray-painted very, very high.
12. Sarchasm: The gulf between the author of sarcastic wit and the person
who doesn't get it.
11. Inoculatte: To take coffee intravenously when
you are running late.
10. Hipatitis: Terminal coolness.
9. Osteopornosis: A degenerate disease. (This one got extra credit.)
8. Karmageddon: It's like, when everybody is sending off all these
really bad vibes, right? And then, like, the Earth explodes and it's,
like, a serious bummer.
7. Decafalon (n.): The grueling event of getting through the day
consuming only things that are good for you.
6. Glibido: All talk and no action.
5. Dopeler effect: The tendency of stupid ideas to seem smarter when
they come at you rapidly.
4. Arachnoleptic fit (n.): The frantic dance performed just after
you've accidentally walked through a spider web.
3. Beelzebug (n.): Satan in the form of a mosquito, that gets into your
bedroom at three in the morning and cannot be cast out.
2. Caterpallor (n.): The color you turn after finding half a worm in
the fruit you're eating.
#1 pick:
1. Ignoranus: A person who's both stupid and an asshole."
